The Weekend

How is the weekend almost over?! I don’t even know where it went or what I did! However what I do know is that its been bloody HOT!!! I am not good with hot unless I can be in and out of a pool with cocktails handed to me hourly and snacks available 24/7. Although a nice pink & white ice-cream today on our 6 mile walk went down nicely – sod the diet haha!

Don’t get me wrong, the lighter evenings, bbq with friends and after walk sea front walks are lovely BUT I am internally looking forward to some cooler weather OR someone buying me a paddling pool!

So whats the plan for this week?! 2 1/2 day week for me – wahooo! Matt & I have booked some leave together and I cannot wait to spend some proper time together as we have a busy weekend next week! Our weekend starts Wednesday when my godparents visit for dinner (they are over from the states), Thursday & Friday we will see what happens, but then Saturday is my parents annual party with all the family and Sunday is the Food Festival which we are so excited for! So its going to be a busy long weekend for us, but I CANNOT wait!

Here is my thought for this week – I hope you have a great one!

Life is better when you're laughing - great inspirational quote.

Mother & Daughter Time

When I came back from the states One of my friends Hayley asked me what I would like for my birthday, to which I replied I had no idea at all. She asked me if as a budding photographer she could help me with my bucket list and take me and my mum to a local garden and do a photo shoot? I jumped at the chance as she is a great photographer and I knew me and mum would be relaxed and have a giggle!

We headed down to some lovely gardens in West Sussex and just went with the flow, we had lots of giggles and it was a lovely day to spend with Hayley and Mum, the fact we were there to take photos was just a bonus!

At work Hayley asked if I would like my birthday gift before my birthday? Of course I said no! So when I opened up my gift on my birthday I was just simply blown away. Hayley had put together a lovely photobook with gorgeous phrases and brilliant pictures of me and mum and also a lovely photo board. I simply couldnt believe how lovely the photos were and what made it even better was that I could remember what we were laughing at etc at each photo. Hayley also gave me a USB with all the photos on too & I just had to share some with you!

A Trip To The Farm

So time for another cross off the bucket list!

Sunday 13th April me and some of my friends and their little munchkins headed off to Manor Farm & Country Park in Hampshire where I was going to be Milking A Cow! My friend from work & fellow blogger Heather also came along and decided earlier this week that Milking A Cow was a rather random thing to do & fits in quite well with her blog (http://hpullan88.blog.com) so she was going to give it a go too!

I made the people at the farm aware that we both wanted to do it and surprisingly it wasn’t the first time that they have had someone there doing in because it was on their bucket list! We had a bit of a look round the farm first then it was the time….the farmer arrived & gave us all a bit of a talk about the cows and the milk (it was mainly for the kids – although we did all learn something!) and then it was ready steady go!

The cow that I milked is a Jersey Cow called Abigail, she is pregnant and her little calf is due in August.

Afterwards we all went our separate way for a while and had a look round the farm then some of us went on a bit of a walk round the bigger fields to see some of the Lambs, Chickens, Turkeys and Pigs!

After all that walking the kids wanted a bit more fun in the park and gave the adults a chance to sit down have a natter and enjoy some of the great south coast sunshine!

All in all I had a great morning at the farm & I am grateful to those that came to share this experience with me, alothough this is MY bucketlist it is a journey we are all taking together & I love that you were there to support and laugh at me today!

Sunday Wanderlust Part V

If you could go anywhere in the world where would you go? So many people bounce that question around and if you are anything like me you will struggle to answer it as there are so many places in the world you want to see…..

National Park

Ok, so I am not a big camper or a massive hiker BUT over the past few months when I am googling America and romantic weekend breaks in the UK a relaxing weekend with nature is just claiming me! I would love to stay in a cabin for a long weekend and just explore nature and just have peace and quiet

Where Would I Stay? I have no clue! I would love to stay in a log cabin, I’m not a tent lover so definitely either a cabin/chalet.

What Would I Do There Relax, Hike, Cycle & just chill out!

Who Would I Take maybe get a group of people to come along, Matt could take his kayak if there was water and we could all have a nice relaxed weekend!

If you could go anywhere in the world where would you go? So many people bounce that question around and if you are anything like me you will struggle to answer it as there are so many places in the world you want to see…..

Thailand

Thailand hasn’t always interested me and to be honest Asia as a continent isn’t somewhere that I am overly interested in, however Thailand is home to Elephants, Amazing Spa’s & Amazing Beaches…..so it is somewhere to consider!

Where Would I Stay? I have no idea & I am totally up for suggestions! One of the girls I went to school with has been doing a lot of travelling and has been staying in some wonderful Thai hotels for next to nothing, so I am sure I will be able to find something!

What Would I Do There So I have been doing some research and I would love to do an overnight trip to The Elephant Nature Park in the Chiang Mai province. I have also found an amazing cooking school in Bangkok – Baipai Thai Cooking School – now I am not the best cook, but I love Asian food and it would be amazing to learn how to cook Thai food properly! I would love to visit Pukhet and explore the amazing beaches there!

Who Would I Take anyone that wanted to come on a long relaxing holiday!

Sunday Wanderlust III

If you could go anywhere in the world where would you go? So many people bounce that question around and if you are anything like me you will struggle to answer it as there are so many places in the world you want to see…..

DUBAI

Whenever Matt and I are shopping we always take a look in the travel agents to see what last minute deals are on offer and there is normally one for Dubai. It was never really somewhere that I wanted to go – but after seeing on offer so often, I thought I would take a look and I fell in love – it looks so beautiful!

Where Would I Stay? As this is all about a Wanderlust then I am going all out and picking Atlantis, The Palm, Dubai! Now I would LOVE to stay in a Signature Suite, they are massive suites over 3 floors and there is a floor to ceiling window into the lagoon! Now the chance of me getting to do that is insanely low! So I would pick a Deluxe Room, which is just a basic hotel room – what are the chances I will actually be in the room all the time! However if I cant afford to stay there then I would probably pick Jumeirah Beach Hotel and select a Ocean Superior King Room.

What Would I Do There? Well apart from some shopping in Dubai Mall and soaking up the sun there is a few things that I would like to do! Swimming with Dolphins at The Palm, spend the day having fun at Aquaventure Waterpark, go up the tallest building in the world the Burj Khalifa.

Who Would I Take? This is a difficult one as I would love to go with Matt, however the rules around male & female contact puts me off slightly, so I would probably go with some girlfriends!

Sunday Wanderlust Part II

If you could go anywhere in the world where would you go? So many people bounce that question around and if you are anything like me you will struggle to answer it as there are so many places in the world you want to see…..

Texas:

For about 3-4 years now, Texas has been on my radar – the cowboys, the state fair, the Austin bats, the food – pretty much everything! As I have mentioned in one of my previous blogs one of my blogger friends has kindly offered to put me up if I was ever able to visit – which is incredibly kind! That is one of the reasons why I love the blogging community!

Where Would I Stay? There are 3 major cities that I want to visit, San Antonio, Austin & Dallas. There is a few places that I have looked at, but I think I would probably end up just staying in a generic hotel whilst I am there. However, I have recently looked into staying on a ranch for a couple of nights. The one I am definitely interested in is Rancho Cortez Ranch (www.ranchocortez.com)located just outside of Bandera, they offer something called a Dude Ranch Special for $99 which has definitely caught my eye! That includes trail rides, Campfire, Use of Ranch Amenities, Western entertainment, Learn to throw a lasso, Hay Wagon Ride and lots of other exciting things!

What Would I Do There? Well apart from stay over at a ranch, I really want to cruise on a River Boat along the San Antonio River Walk & Dine alongside the River. In Austin there is one definite item on my list and that is to see the Austin Bats on Congress Avenue Bridge. The best time to experience the Bats is in August when the young pups start to fly with their mothers so maybe a visit over my birthday?! In Dallas – that’s easy…..The Texas State Fair! It usually runs late September for about a month – it is MASSIVE and is definitely somewhere I love to explore! Also, prividing she is still living in Texas I would meet up with a fellow blogger Las & her little family!

Who Would I Take? Just me! I would love the chance to just explore do my own thing.
