Review Of 2014

Wow, I can’t believe we are already in 2015! 2014 went super quick and soo much happened. I went a week without technology, had & threw up afternoon tea at The Ritz, saw a fashion show at London Fashion Week, Milked A Cow, went on a road trip to Ohio, went to a Rodeo in Ohio (in a maxi dress!), had a photo shoot with my mum, went on a spa weekend with Hayley and finally made my own Christmas cards!

As well as all of that I had 2 holidays, brought a new car, broke my foot, went to the grand national, reunited with old friends, lost new friends and caught lightening bugs in America. To say it has been a quiet year would be a bit of an understatement. However, for some reason whenever anyone says to me “oh what have you been up to?” I never seem have much to report back, which in actual fact is a LIE!

I cant really say what my favourite thing of 2014 was as I have a lot of happy memories and ones that I will treasure forever. There have been some sad times as well, Matt & I know people that have ended relationships, lost family members and experienced a lot of sadness this year.

I am really excited to see what 2015 has in store for me, I know that one thing is for sure I am fly to VEGAS in April! I cannot wait, I am sooo excited! I have also started number 24 – its a bit hard to find something to take a picture of everyday, but I am excited to look back on them in a years time! There are 2 more things that I would like to cross of this year, but I am going to keep them for myself and surprise you all when I announce them! People often ask each other, what New Year’s resolutions they are making; I cant help but feel that you are setting yourself up for failure, especially if they are diet or fitness related. I have made 3 resolutions for this year, but these are things I started doing at the beginning of December:

Be Kinder To Myself – dont put too much pressure on myself to hit certain goals, just enjoy life

Make More Effort With Those That Make The Effort With Me – I am not great at texting people back or calling people, but I am concious that I dont want to lose friendships that I have, so I am going to make the effort more, especially with those that always make an effort to reach out to me.

Save At Least 12k By The End Of The Year – I already have about a 3rd of this saved, so its a reasonable goal, but one that I want to achieve to get my own home!

Have you made any resolutions for the new year? what were your favourite things of 2014?

Relaxed Cows – Number 23!

OK, a few months ago my friend Hayley said she would love to do a girly spa break with me to cross something off my list. Things happened and we never got round to organising anything! As it was coming up to her birthday, I thought, why not organise something around that! We were heading to London anyway, so I spoke to her other half and booked a hotel and a treatment at a spa near Choccywoccydoodah!

The spa is called Cowshed; they have 6 spa’s in the UK, 3 in USA and 1 in Germany. You can also purchase their products from lots of stores across the country. We visited their Spa in Carnaby Street and from the minute we stepped in there I felt so relaxed even after battling though the crazy Christmas shoppers to get there!

We were booked in for a Ultimate Cowshed Manicure and it was just lovely! First off we were asked to pick a nail polish, which is easier said then done, once that was picked we were given a relaxing hand massage then whilst our hands were in a warming mask we were treated to head and shoulder massage. It was lovely! I honestly think I fell asleep at one point!

Not only is it a spa, they also sell their own products, ranging from candles to body lotions to baby products. My favourite thing about their products is that they are called things like knackered cow, horny cow, moody cow. I love the play on words aspect of it, it just makes products so much more fun!

I have to say, overall the spa experience we had was 10/10 we both love our nails and had a lovely relaxing experience! I would definitely go back!

September’s Favourite App

Hello,

This is a bit on an unusual post, but I thought I would see how it goes and if it gets a good reception I will give it another go next month!

So this may sound a bit mad, but since I can remember I have always had music or a telly on to help me go to sleep, but earlier this month I realised that I need to get out of that habit and just learn to fall asleep normally! So I downloaded an app called Stop, Breathe & Think App on the app store, it was free at the time.

I have been using it pretty much every night ever since downloading it. It asks you to to stop and think about how you really feel for 10 seconds. It then asks you to pick how you feel mentally and physically & then pick 5 emotions. Once you have done that it gives you some self mediation recordings to listen to. They vary in length, but when I am laid in the dark with just my mind it is so easy to switch off and listen to the relaxing tones and just breathe and rest.

I have done some research and the App was created by a Organisation called Tools for Peace, their mission statement is

Tools for Peace inspires people of all ages to develop kindness and compassion in everyday life.

I cant imagine a better thing to do, as a society we are so self absorbed and concerned with money & what we can buy to make us constantly happy, that we over look the simple things in life that can enrich our lives. For example helping an old lady across a road, holding a door open for a stranger, carrying someones shopping to the car when they are struggling with a trolley and a buggy!

So although, the app for me is to help me wind down to relax and sleep better, the reasoning behind it makes me feel so pleased that I am start of something a lot bigger! You can pay for extra’s too to lengthen the mediation timers, which I haven’t done as it seems to be serving me quite well at the moment.

So, if you are like me and struggle to sleep or just want to learn to meditate and take 5 minutes out of your day for you this is definately an app for you!

Sunday Wanderlust Part V

If you could go anywhere in the world where would you go? So many people bounce that question around and if you are anything like me you will struggle to answer it as there are so many places in the world you want to see…..

National Park

Ok, so I am not a big camper or a massive hiker BUT over the past few months when I am googling America and romantic weekend breaks in the UK a relaxing weekend with nature is just claiming me! I would love to stay in a cabin for a long weekend and just explore nature and just have peace and quiet

Where Would I Stay? I have no clue! I would love to stay in a log cabin, I’m not a tent lover so definitely either a cabin/chalet.

What Would I Do There Relax, Hike, Cycle & just chill out!

Who Would I Take maybe get a group of people to come along, Matt could take his kayak if there was water and we could all have a nice relaxed weekend!

If you could go anywhere in the world where would you go? So many people bounce that question around and if you are anything like me you will struggle to answer it as there are so many places in the world you want to see…..

Thailand

Thailand hasn’t always interested me and to be honest Asia as a continent isn’t somewhere that I am overly interested in, however Thailand is home to Elephants, Amazing Spa’s & Amazing Beaches…..so it is somewhere to consider!

Where Would I Stay? I have no idea & I am totally up for suggestions! One of the girls I went to school with has been doing a lot of travelling and has been staying in some wonderful Thai hotels for next to nothing, so I am sure I will be able to find something!

What Would I Do There So I have been doing some research and I would love to do an overnight trip to The Elephant Nature Park in the Chiang Mai province. I have also found an amazing cooking school in Bangkok – Baipai Thai Cooking School – now I am not the best cook, but I love Asian food and it would be amazing to learn how to cook Thai food properly! I would love to visit Pukhet and explore the amazing beaches there!

Who Would I Take anyone that wanted to come on a long relaxing holiday!

Sunday Wanderlust Part I

If you could go anywhere in the world where would you go? So many people bounce that question around and if you are anything like me you will struggle to answer it as there are so many places in the world you want to see…..so I have decided for the next 5 Sundays I will share with you the 5 places that I would love to visit!

Bora Bora:

For as long as I can remember I have always been fascinated with Bora Bora and wanted to visit! The clear blue water and the bungalows in the sea – it looks so idyllic and peaceful, perfect place to relax and enjoy a stress free holiday!

Where Would I Stay? St Regis Bora Bora, in a Premium Over The Water Villa. It includes a outdoor whirlpool, private pontoon (had to google what that was!), and covered daybed, as well as a larger living room with daybed nook! Not that you need all of those things, but why not have a few luxuries!

What Would I Do There? Relax on the beach A LOT! Snorkel – I found a love for this in Cuba and with the clearest waters in Bora Bora this would be a perfect location for this!

Who Would I Take? Matt, of course! Bora Bora is such a romantic location and I wouldn’t want to share that experience with anyone else!

Motivation March

Hello Everyone!

I hope you all are doing ok and keeping well. I have been thinking about March and how it is going to be a positive month for me, so I have set some things to achieve for march and encourage you to do the same!

Work out for 1 hour at the gym I will quite often stay between 30-45minutes at the gym, but I think if I spent 1 hour of pure hard work and dedication at the gym for the 3-4 days that I go then I will really start to see the benefit when I measure myself and also hopefully on the scales! Hopefully this will form a habit and after a couple of weeks it will be easy for me to stay for 1 hour!

Get my boobs measured! Ok! this is a random one – but it makes sense, there is sooo many women out there wearing the wrong size bra & I cannot remember the last time I got myself measured. Its so beneficial to be wearing the right size bra not only for your comfort but to help with posture & allowing your clothes to fit appropriately. So I’m getting measured!

Get your 1.5 stone award at slimming world! This has been on my to-do list for the longest time! I am 5lb away from getting this award. THis would be easy to achieve if I was on plan 100% all the time & I will admit I’m not. However now I will be I am going to get to this goal and I am going to sort this out for once and for all! I have decided I am going to get a food diary written down and be honest with what I am putting in my body!

No technology after 9pm! This is a bit of an odd one, but I honestly think it will help me to relax and go to bed a lot easier and get some proper rest and really switch off.

I am hoping that this will really help me to get me motivated and get some habits formed so that everything will start to flow more naturally and I will get to where I want to be!

What are your goals for march? what would you like to achieve?
