Target

I am fed up of paying £4.95 a week, I want my £20-£25 back a month. That will allow me to have my lashes done every other month or get a new outfit or put it towards a trip away, over 12 months it would be £257 I would be saving……..

The easy option is to stop going to group, but I enjoy it. I like the accountability of getting weighed each week, I like getting a shiny sticker at my next milestone. If I don’t go to group I have no accountability and my weight will spiral out of control, I know it will. So what I need to do is get to target, hit my milestone where I feel comfortable and then I can stop paying.

When I first started going almost 2 years ago, I decided that I wanted to lose 2 stone and that I would be happy with that weight loss. I am 5.5lb away from that, or I was when I got weighed last week, when this goes live it probably wont be true. Do I feel ready to call target? I am not sure, I am loving that I am a comfortable size 14 in most shops. I am pretty happy with my size and feel more body confident than ever. However, I am wondering if I was to go a little bit further, maybe 2.5 stone award should be my target? Then I wonder if I will ever be happy!

I know my body cant cope when I lose too much, it panics and I start to put weight on, I cant maintain what the NHS believes my weight should be in line with my BMI. Ultimately, I just want to be at a weight where I can go in to a shop and not have to worry as I can just pick a size up and know it fits. I can do that now, so what I am waiting for? Nothing is what I am waiting for, so I have a plan.

I am going to call target on 13th June, just over 2 years since my journey started. That is 8 weigh ins to go, my aim is to get that 5.5lb off and call target at my 2 stone award BUT ultimately I would be overjoyed if I could get my 2.5 stone award.

So the plan is moving forward, power through – write everything down. Stick to plan, have 1 cheat meal or day each week and that doesn’t have to be on the Thursday after weigh in.

I can’t wait to call target and get my money back each week – the challenge then will be staying within range and maintaining that weight.

Please be kind – keep temptation away!

Planning For The Future!

Do you ever wonder where time has gone? I was sat thinking the other evening that I am going to be 27 in a couple of months’ time. It scared me.

I remember when I was younger – way before I met Matt, that I thought at 27 I would be married, living in my own home and possibly have a baby or have one on the way. Don’t get me wrong, I haven’t missed out on anything, I have seen and been to some amazing places in the last few years that some people my age (and older) can only dream of, but I can’t help but think that time really does go really quickly!

Matt & I have been together for 6 years in August, it only feels like a couple of months ago that we first met up, had our first kiss, went on our first mini break, had our first holiday, when in reality that all happened quite some time ago.

I am currently saving my bum off for a deposit so that I can get my own place with Matt. I am doing ok, I have 40% of the amount I want to save in the bank & that is the most amount of money I have ever saved in my life! Despite how much I really want that and I really want to move out, I can’t help but think about the sacrifices that I am going to have to make when that happens, I can’t live at home forever (despite what my parents would say!) so something has to give somewhere, it is just going to take some getting used to! On the flip side, not having our place to host parties or have friends over is a bit frustrating. Although both sets of parents are really accommodating and relaxed, it’s not quite the same! My parents are away for a week later on in June so I am making the most of it and having the girls over for a cocktail night!

I am really lucky to have minimal fixed outgoings each month, they average about £200 so I am able to put the majority of my pay into savings, which has allowed me to get where I am now. I do give myself about £200-£250 a month to play with and I honestly have no idea where my money goes! I don’t feel like I buy a lot of clothes or stuff, but I do quite a bit of socialising, so it probably goes on food! I always think that I want to be saving more, so in a bid to boost the savings pot I have signed up to be an online Partylite Consultant!

I wont even start to apologise for any partylite themed blog/twitter/instagram posts that you may find yourself viewing! I love the products that Partylite have to offer, which is why I want you all to fill your gorgeous homes with them! As soon as I have my website and everything set up, I will share this with you.

In the mean time, have a wonderful week & catch up soon.

The Next Big Adventure

Myself and Matt last had an adventure to Rome in August last year for a long weekend which was fantastic! I was really apprehensive at first after not really enjoying Venice, but they are 2 completely different cities and I LOVED Rome and would definitely want to go back, not to do touristy things (as we did most of that) but just to relax and soak up the culture and people watch!

Fun In Rome

Fun In Rome

Our next big adventure is in April with my best friend and her partner, we are heading out to Vegas for a week then going to San Francisco for a few nights whilst they go to LA. I have been doing some research of things to do in San Fran and also reading up on some blogs and chatting to people that have already been. I have put together a Wish List of things for us to do on our next adventure and I wanted to share with you all!

FOOD!

So with everything I read, people are raving about the seafood, I am not a big fish lover, but I am not adverse to trying new things. I have also been reading about sourdough bread, ice-cream and burritos! So here are a few places I plan on eating at!

First stop Boudins Bistro, this place has been recommended by 2 different people so for me that straight away says we need to make a pit stop there! It looks to be right by Pier 39 and there is also a Museum and a Demonstration Bakery, the menu looks amazing and they seem to be the “Kings Of Sourdough!”

It Just Looks Yummy!

It Just Looks Yummy!

I cant go somewhere new and not try out some Ice-Cream, next on the list is Bi-Rite Creamery, who like to use local produce and as such their ‘Balsamic Strawberry’ is only available in the Summer. For locals that love this place the fact that flavours come and go dependent on the season, must make their trip there even more exciting! I have been taking a look at the Ice-Cream flavours and I have to say Banana Fudge Ripple and Malted Vanilla with Peanut Brittle and Milk Chocolate Pieces have definitely caught my eye!

Hmmmm Ice-Cream!

Hmmmm Ice-Cream!

Things To Do

The Golden Gate Bridge, do you walk it, cycle it, drive it or fly it? So many options and every option people seem to love! My fella wants to drive it, but I like the sound of cycling over it, taking some snaps of the bridge at Vista Point, then heading onto Sausalito take a look round the small town, grab a bite to eat and head back to San Fran on the ferry!

I Hope Its Not Too Foggy When We Visit!

I Hope Its Not Too Foggy When We Visit!

One of the main reasons Matt picked San Fran was because he wants to go to Alcatraz, I have been doing some research and one of the best tours to do is the night tour, but unfortunately it is only on Thurs-Mon and its going to be too tight to visit on the Monday evening so we will have to settle for a day tour!

Imagine Walking Through There At Night!

Imagine Walking Through There At Night!

So far, apart from go on a Tram, these are the only real things we have set out that we definitely want to do! So if you have any ideas or suggestions of places to go, things to see, where is best to eat then please please please comment below and help me out!

Bridesmaid Duties Part 3

I cant believe how long it has been since I have written a blog about my bridesmaid duties! To be honest, there is a lot I could tell you about my duties as being Hayley’s bridesmaid and helping to organise her Hen Party in November, but she reads this and I don’t want to spoil the surprise!

However, I haven’t written this as a meaningless blog (well, some people might think it its!) as I wanted to share with you all that my bridesmaid duties have INCREASED. My cousin Trina is due to get married in July this year & originally decided that she didn’t want to have bridesmaids, so when I got a text from her on Tuesday asking if I wanted to be her bridesmaid, I couldn’t say no! I have to say, its going to be a mad few months as we need to get dresses and a hen party sorted but her laid back attitude I am sure will keep the bridal team calm!

At the moment, I am part of  2 wedding pin boards on Pinterest, trying to remember what secret I cant tell what bride and I’m not even organising the whole day!

I have to say though, although my holiday to Vegas is motivation, the fact I need to get into a bridesmaid dress in 6 months time has spurred me on and I went back to the gym tonight for the first time in over a month! I also need to get rid of my Christmas chocolates!!!

So over the coming months, I am sure there will be lots to fill you in on so keep your eyes peeled, oh and just to keep you entertained here is a gorgeous picture of me and Trina!

Why Am I So Indecisive…..

18. Be In the Audience Of A TV Show
21. Take My Godchildren Out For The Day By Myself

Both of these are being replaced, number 18, because its soo hard to get in the audience – you can get tickets but it’s a case of turn up and see if you can get in to the show – so it’s never guaranteed. Number 21, my godchildren were never my godchildren, I was a honorary godparent to one my friends 2 children. Unfortunately that friendship hasn’t stood the test of time and we now no longer speak or see each other, so 21 is never going to happen.

What I am going to replace these with is really difficult, I have been mulling this over for the last few days and here are the contenders:

Celebrate My Birthday Abroad
Throw A Massive 30th Birthday Party
Go To The Mall Of America
Be A Big Kid At Disneyland

So they are all a bit different, but I need to pick 2 of them! Each have their pro’s and con’s and I have done some research and based on going away in March 2015 (I’m not planning on going away that soon!) it would cost me + 1 other the same price to go to Disneyland Paris for 3 nights (not including park tickets just travel and hotel costs) as it would to go to the Mall of America and my Godparents in Indiana for 10 nights (that includes flight and hotel costs in Minnesota). How does that work?! I would love to go to Disney and just let go and have fun and enjoy myself, but it’s not something that I feel strongly about, but then how can you feel strongly about going to a shopping Mall! Haaahahaha!!!! How about throw a massive 30th Birthday Party – this could cost A LOT or cost a little, I could theme it, invite lots of friends and family and really have a great time. It doesn’t need to be in hall/marquee it could be held in a back garden or a pub etc. It can become a celebration of completing my bucket list! The other one is to celebrate my birthday abroad; it could come in so many different forms, a day in France, a week away or even mix it up with another item on the list!

Although it shouldn’t, it does come down to the cost element. At the point of writing this, I am due to attend an appointment with a Financial Advisor to help me to budget and start saving, as I am trying to save up for the most expensive thing I will ever buy – a home. So whilst my bucket list has to be about things I wouldn’t normally do or things I really want to do before I have to “grow up” it does come down to can I afford it?

I am swaying more towards a party and celebrate my birthday abroad, but then I want to go to the Mall of America……aaah decisions decisions. I can only pick 2, but what 2 will I look back on in 15 years’ time and say “I can’t believe I did that, that was such a great time”. I did have a 18th & 21st Birthday party so do I really need a 30th birthday party?!

Oh what to pick!! Ok, I can’t make the decision now, I am going to sleep on it and think about it later…..

So its now 2 days later, I have written off Disney….here are some Pro’s & Con’s to the rest:

Celebrate My Birthday Abroad
IDEA: Day Trip To France/Week Away All Inclusive Last Minute Holiday
PRO: somewhere new to see/experience a different culture/only needs to be a day or long weekend/could do it for my 30th
CON: who would I go with/is it going to be expensive for a short time
Throw A Massive 30th Birthday Party

IDEA: Garden Party/Could Be On A Cheap Budget – Start Preparing Now/Could Go All Out And Hire Caterers etc
PRO: big celebration/all friends and family together/ good fun
CON: cost/time to organise/had 18th & 21st party – do I need at 30th?
Go To The Mall Of America

IDEA: Girls Trip/Teamed Up With Somewhere Else In US/Possibly Then Onto Uncle Martins
PRO: somewhere new to see/wanted to go for a while/not just a mall there is a theme park too/can team up with somewhere else in the states
CON: cost (approx. £800 for 2 weeks 3nts @ MOA then onto IND inc car hire – based March 2015)/who would come with me

However, this still doesn’t help me as I don’t know what 2 to choose!!!! AHHHHHH!!! Ok, lets regain some composure, I have 4 more birthdays left (including my 30th!) to celebrate my birthday abroad, that means 4 years to plan and pay for a birthday bash – both of these are do-able. Mall of America, if the prices stay the same and say I took £800 spending money, thats £1,600 total – I am sat here thinking

THAT’S A LOT OF MONEY

but I am also thinking that I am only going to live once and a birthday party could actually cost that amount by the end of it. Life is so short why shouldn’t I do the things I wanna do – I cant do it when I’m gone & do I really want to sit when I am 60 and say “I wish I did that?” not really, I want to be telling my grandchildren “I did all these amazing things”.

Seasonal Shop AW14

Hello All,

For the past few weeks I have been pinning idea’s to a new board on Pinterest ready for my next big shopping sesh with my bestie in October.

We arent going too far, but I know we will be out all day & I will end the day shattered and out of money! Here are a few things I have seen online that I really like!

Autumn-Winter

I have realised that I am loving burgundy and I really hope that I can get a few of these when we go shopping in a few weeks time. The bed spread is just phenomenal, but its completely out of my price range. I put back a winter bedspread last year and I am completely not going to make that mistake again this year! And I think some of you will say it looks rubbish, but I am loving tartan at the moment for bed clothes and the nightshirt looks sooo cosy, I cant wait to buy it and sit on my bed in the tartan nightshirt with a yummy hot chocolate watching a romantic movie with some candles on and it raining outside! Oh I cant wait for autumn/winter – we seem to be having an indian summer at the moment on the south coast, but I am hoping the weather will turn soon and I can start wearing some boots and cosy jumpers!

If you would like to check out my pinboard here is the link http://uk.pinterest.com/princessepink/autumn-winter-wishlist-2014

I will share with you my purchases in a few weeks time!

Revisiting the list……..

I have been mulling this over now for a while, checking my list an trying to work out what can replace Number 20 & 21 and maybe changing some other that realistically are either too expensive or just not doable!

Here are a few idea’s:

Travel Somewhere by myself
Visit a fortune teller
Celebrate my birthday in a foreign country
Feed An Animal At The Zoo
Volunteer
Throw a massive 30th birthday party
Go to the Mall of America
Go to a make up counter and buy the right make up for me
Go on holiday with no plans – just go with the flow
Eat no meat for 1 month
Visit a castle & learn its history
Go To Disneyland, wear mouse ears and act like a big kid

There a few in that list that I could 100% do and achieve before I am 30, but actually only 5 that I probably really want to do, but there are a few things in there that would probably be an experience I would never have before!

I am going to think this over for a while and see where my decision takes me!
