A Day For Mummy’s Every Where!

Can you believe Mothers Day (in the UK) is just a couple of weeks away? I always find that mums are really hard to buy for as they always say they don’t need anything but secretly you know they are hoping you will surprise them with a lovely gift! So I have done some hunting, mainly on Etsy as it has become my new obsession for cute little gifts, I have also had a look in the Hampshire area for days out for you and your mum! I hope I have found something for everyone or at least given you some hints and tips.

I love this piece by Jelly Bird Signs, I am an avid follower of theirs on Instagram just as 45 thousand other people! Unfortunately they currently only ship to USA and Canada, but for those of you across the pond, definitely check them out on Etsy, their shop restocks every Thursday & Saturday – Don’t Miss Out!

When browsing through Etsy, these Key-rings kept coming up time and time again and they are the cutest thing! This one is only £11 plus p&p for 2 names! Which I think is a bargain for such a personalised gift. I looked on their shop and they have a lot of really unique stuff starting as little as £6!

I love how cute these socks are! I found them on Not On The High Street and they would be perfect for any mum loves to chill with a glass of wine, for just £15 plus p&p you could chuck in her favourite bottle of wine to really make it a personalised gift!

My mum loves candles and what better gift than a personalised candle and one that can be a keepsake when its burnt out! This one is by Lily Belle, its £29 plus p&p, with burn time of approximately 40 hours and the choice of 2 fragrances, I think its the most adorable gift!

Living in Hampshire I am so spoilt to have the luxury of being close to the beach, countryside and some lovely cities with amazing shopping! However, Hampshire is also home to some beautiful hotels that are perfect for spoiling your mum.

First on the list is The Four Seasons, just off the M3, 15 minutes from Basingstoke its in the heart of Hampshire, they offer Afternoon Tea in The Library for just £27 per person, or you can upgrade to Champagne Tea for £39 per person. It boasts a wide selection of finger sandwiches, combined with a scrumptious set of pastries not forgetting the all important scones!

Perhaps you would like to treat your mum to a pamper session? Then I have heard great things about the spa facilities at Chewton Glen, right on the edge of the New Forest and 40 minutes outside of Soutampton its a great place to hid away for the day with your mum! There are 2 options that they have to offer which I really like the sound of, first up is Treat for Two – Spa Day for Two its £250 so a bit on the expensive side, but with this you get the following:
  • Breakfast box on arrival
  • 25 minute back, neck and shoulder massage
  • 25 minute private steam experience
  • Pool Bar buffet lunch
  • Full use of the spa facilities
Maybe you want something a bit cheaper? Then the Evening Treat for Two is going to be right up your street, why not take your mum for a walk in the forest then head to the hotel for 5 hours of pampering before heading home. This one is £170 for you both and with that you get the following:
  • 25 minute back, neck and shoulder massage
  • 25 minute private steam experience
  • Full use of the spa facilities
I hope I have helped you all out with some idea’s and I wish all your lovely mums a very Happy Mothers Day!

Love

Review Of 2014

Wow, I can’t believe we are already in 2015! 2014 went super quick and soo much happened. I went a week without technology, had & threw up afternoon tea at The Ritz, saw a fashion show at London Fashion Week, Milked A Cow, went on a road trip to Ohio, went to a Rodeo in Ohio (in a maxi dress!), had a photo shoot with my mum, went on a spa weekend with Hayley and finally made my own Christmas cards!

As well as all of that I had 2 holidays, brought a new car, broke my foot, went to the grand national, reunited with old friends, lost new friends and caught lightening bugs in America. To say it has been a quiet year would be a bit of an understatement. However, for some reason whenever anyone says to me “oh what have you been up to?” I never seem have much to report back, which in actual fact is a LIE!

I cant really say what my favourite thing of 2014 was as I have a lot of happy memories and ones that I will treasure forever. There have been some sad times as well, Matt & I know people that have ended relationships, lost family members and experienced a lot of sadness this year.

I am really excited to see what 2015 has in store for me, I know that one thing is for sure I am fly to VEGAS in April! I cannot wait, I am sooo excited! I have also started number 24 – its a bit hard to find something to take a picture of everyday, but I am excited to look back on them in a years time! There are 2 more things that I would like to cross of this year, but I am going to keep them for myself and surprise you all when I announce them! People often ask each other, what New Year’s resolutions they are making; I cant help but feel that you are setting yourself up for failure, especially if they are diet or fitness related. I have made 3 resolutions for this year, but these are things I started doing at the beginning of December:

Be Kinder To Myself – dont put too much pressure on myself to hit certain goals, just enjoy life

Make More Effort With Those That Make The Effort With Me – I am not great at texting people back or calling people, but I am concious that I dont want to lose friendships that I have, so I am going to make the effort more, especially with those that always make an effort to reach out to me.

Save At Least 12k By The End Of The Year – I already have about a 3rd of this saved, so its a reasonable goal, but one that I want to achieve to get my own home!

Have you made any resolutions for the new year? what were your favourite things of 2014?

Mother & Daughter Time

When I came back from the states One of my friends Hayley asked me what I would like for my birthday, to which I replied I had no idea at all. She asked me if as a budding photographer she could help me with my bucket list and take me and my mum to a local garden and do a photo shoot? I jumped at the chance as she is a great photographer and I knew me and mum would be relaxed and have a giggle!

We headed down to some lovely gardens in West Sussex and just went with the flow, we had lots of giggles and it was a lovely day to spend with Hayley and Mum, the fact we were there to take photos was just a bonus!

At work Hayley asked if I would like my birthday gift before my birthday? Of course I said no! So when I opened up my gift on my birthday I was just simply blown away. Hayley had put together a lovely photobook with gorgeous phrases and brilliant pictures of me and mum and also a lovely photo board. I simply couldnt believe how lovely the photos were and what made it even better was that I could remember what we were laughing at etc at each photo. Hayley also gave me a USB with all the photos on too & I just had to share some with you!

Forever A Drama Queen

So last week I got a text reminder of my appt to give blood – I immediately called my mum as I couldn’t remember booking it and neither could she! But I wasn’t going to miss it, I was going to go and save another life as you do each time you give blood!

I have to admit, when we rocked up I said to mum that I was more nervous this time than I was back in September! I did the normal finger prick to check my iron and all was ok, then I got called over and the lovely nurse got me sat down and I said that I was nervous this time round – she had to take my blood pressure twice, so I knew that I was getting myself worked up, but we had a chat and I felt pretty calm! I was joking with my mum as she took 4 minutes to donate a pint and I took 7!

I walked over to where the drinks and biscuits are & had a glass of water and picked some Bourbon biscuits (which they suggest you do!) I was chatting away to my mum when I felt my heart starting to race & it felt like the start of panic attack, then the room started to spin and I had pins & needles, the last thing I remember is saying to my mum I felt dizzy! The next thing I know I have 2 nurses over me asking if I am ok – in my dazed state I am wondering why there are people stood over my bed when my alarm hadn’t gone off yet! I came to a bit more once on the bed/chair thing, I was told that I had fainted – mum looked so panicked and said I had just lost all my colour and was unresponsive!

Thankfully I was attended to quickly and all the staff were lovely and wouldn’t let me leave until they were satisfied I was ok!

This hasn’t put me off giving blood – however we have booked a later time so that I can make sure I eat plenty before I go – I was encouraged to fill up on carbs too!

I can’t help but think – what a drama queen!!
