Review Of 2014

Wow, I can’t believe we are already in 2015! 2014 went super quick and soo much happened. I went a week without technology, had & threw up afternoon tea at The Ritz, saw a fashion show at London Fashion Week, Milked A Cow, went on a road trip to Ohio, went to a Rodeo in Ohio (in a maxi dress!), had a photo shoot with my mum, went on a spa weekend with Hayley and finally made my own Christmas cards!

As well as all of that I had 2 holidays, brought a new car, broke my foot, went to the grand national, reunited with old friends, lost new friends and caught lightening bugs in America. To say it has been a quiet year would be a bit of an understatement. However, for some reason whenever anyone says to me “oh what have you been up to?” I never seem have much to report back, which in actual fact is a LIE!

I cant really say what my favourite thing of 2014 was as I have a lot of happy memories and ones that I will treasure forever. There have been some sad times as well, Matt & I know people that have ended relationships, lost family members and experienced a lot of sadness this year.

I am really excited to see what 2015 has in store for me, I know that one thing is for sure I am fly to VEGAS in April! I cannot wait, I am sooo excited! I have also started number 24 – its a bit hard to find something to take a picture of everyday, but I am excited to look back on them in a years time! There are 2 more things that I would like to cross of this year, but I am going to keep them for myself and surprise you all when I announce them! People often ask each other, what New Year’s resolutions they are making; I cant help but feel that you are setting yourself up for failure, especially if they are diet or fitness related. I have made 3 resolutions for this year, but these are things I started doing at the beginning of December:

Be Kinder To Myself – dont put too much pressure on myself to hit certain goals, just enjoy life

Make More Effort With Those That Make The Effort With Me – I am not great at texting people back or calling people, but I am concious that I dont want to lose friendships that I have, so I am going to make the effort more, especially with those that always make an effort to reach out to me.

Save At Least 12k By The End Of The Year – I already have about a 3rd of this saved, so its a reasonable goal, but one that I want to achieve to get my own home!

Have you made any resolutions for the new year? what were your favourite things of 2014?

A Trip To The Farm

So time for another cross off the bucket list!

Sunday 13th April me and some of my friends and their little munchkins headed off to Manor Farm & Country Park in Hampshire where I was going to be Milking A Cow! My friend from work & fellow blogger Heather also came along and decided earlier this week that Milking A Cow was a rather random thing to do & fits in quite well with her blog (http://hpullan88.blog.com) so she was going to give it a go too!

I made the people at the farm aware that we both wanted to do it and surprisingly it wasn’t the first time that they have had someone there doing in because it was on their bucket list! We had a bit of a look round the farm first then it was the time….the farmer arrived & gave us all a bit of a talk about the cows and the milk (it was mainly for the kids – although we did all learn something!) and then it was ready steady go!

The cow that I milked is a Jersey Cow called Abigail, she is pregnant and her little calf is due in August.

Afterwards we all went our separate way for a while and had a look round the farm then some of us went on a bit of a walk round the bigger fields to see some of the Lambs, Chickens, Turkeys and Pigs!

After all that walking the kids wanted a bit more fun in the park and gave the adults a chance to sit down have a natter and enjoy some of the great south coast sunshine!

All in all I had a great morning at the farm & I am grateful to those that came to share this experience with me, alothough this is MY bucketlist it is a journey we are all taking together & I love that you were there to support and laugh at me today!

Thoughts Have Turned To The New Year

Tonight, whilst watching Miracle On 34th Street (the ’94 version!) my thoughts have turned to what events I have planned in 2014!

I have a big holiday planned with my family in the Summer to stay with my godparents for 2 weeks, I am also booking our Vegas trip next year, so money is going to be a little bit tight! So next year will be more about cheaper things to cross off the list! So my plans for next year, as well as anything else that comes along……

1) Girly Spa Break
2) Milk A Cow
3) Make My Own Christmas Cards
4) Stay Up All Night Watching Movies
5) Run The Race For Life

Ok, so Girly Spa Break…..I need to do some research and find somewhere that me and a friend can really go to town have some lovely treatments and some even better food! Milking A Cow…..I can do this at a local farm and the experience runs daily and I only need to pay to get in (so any friends reading this that would like to join me, please feel free!). Make My Own Christmas Cards…..I wanted to do that this year, but left it a little late, so I am going to raid the craft shops in the January sales and get some bits throughout the year! Stay Up All Night Watching Movies…..I need to put a movie set list together and put one Saturday night aside with my man and have popcorn, pick n mix and yummy drinks and go through a Harry Potter Marathon or Hangover Marathon or maybe even Avengers Marathon! Run The Race For Life……this requires ALOT of motivation from me! I can currently run half a mile and the race for life is 5k which is approx 3.1miles, so I have a bit of work to do, but I am confident I can do it! The Race for life is taking place in my local town in July….so I have approx 7 months to be able to run and be confident in running it without stopping!

Over the past few weeks, my thoughts have really turned to moving out and getting myself a little house, so I really need to start saving and stop splurging! So I have tried to be a bit more inventive with my Bucket List. Whilst I would LOVE to jet off to Africa and go on a real Safari, the cost is just insane and it isn’t always guaranteed you will see all the animals. So I have googled Longleat Safari Park tonight, as I have been before but remember seeing something about a VIP experience and they do have VIP Safari Tours ranging from Bronze to Platinum and prices start from £85pp. Now, I know I am meant to be saving money, but if I cant do the real thing (unless any travel agents want to send me on holiday and I can review it for them!) I am going to have to settle for 2nd best. So I have my eyes set on the Gold VIP Safari Tour, which is approx 6-7 hours and includes Tiger Feeding, Lion and Cheetah experience, Behind the scenes tour, Giraffe feeding – it looks rather cool! So that is definitely an option for me to save a few grand for the house pot! That just leaves Vegas, Boston and New York as the most expensive costs!

Well I am starting to look forward to 2014 and all that it has in store! Do you have anything exciting planned for 2014?

Eat, Drink & Be Merry!
