On 17th December Matts brothers dog had puppies! 6 beautiful brindle pups, they are we’re so tiny and cute and I couldn’t wait to meet them.

Although I would love this post to be about our new puppy…..it isnt…..and we dont have one…..

On 17th December a little boy decided to make his big entrance into the world, 4 weeks & 1 day early. My amazing cousin gave birth to her first born, Dillon Anthony. He was a tiny 4lb 10.5oz but just perfect! I was out for a yummy afternoon tea when I found out and I found myself overcome with emotion & Hayley was there to capture that moment!

Trina & Dillon weren’t allowed home from hospital until Christmas Day, what a perfect present! I have been eager to meet Dillon since the day he was born, but knowing he is early and Nick & Trina are first time parents it only felt right to give them their space. It didn’t help that Matt & I have both been a bit under weather so have stayed away so we don’t share any germs!

However, I finally got to meet my gorgeous new baby cousin earlier this week! Matt despite how much he wanted to, due to work he couldn’t go. He is just so little, but absolutely gorgeous and my cousin is just a natural.

Whilst I have been sent lots of pictures since he was born and I took some snaps too, I want to give them the oppertunity as first time parents to do all the sharing as and when they want to.

So for now, here is the only picture I will share as Dillons favourite big cousin

Cousin Time

Matt worked all weekend, so I was ready for a weekend alone and felt that I needed a bit of an adventure, a bit of spontenatity in my life. Unfortnately my budget couldn’t quite stretch to a last minute trip to Disney (oh that will come one day), so I put out a plea on Facebook earlier in the week to see if any of my friends or family wanted an adventure day! Of course my cousin Trina was first to respond asking for me to take her with her wherever I end up!

Initially we were going to go to Blenheim Palace……but on Sunday morning as I picked her up, we changed our mind and ended up heading to Marwell Zoo! We are really lucky, its only a 30 minute drive from us, but for everyone else, its just off the M3 headed towards Winchester. We arrived just before opening at 10am and scouted out the website first to check out the animals and if there were any events on. Entry fee’s weren’t too expensive either, I paid £19 for an adult but as a student Trina got in for £16.50, these were still summer prices but between November and April those prices reduce too, which is even better! Of course the tickets include a donation as Marwell is actually a conservation charity too, so we were able to gift aid our tickets too!

We got in and straight away there is a stand for the kids to be Explorers for the day, a suggested donation of £1 gets them a book where you need to collect 9 stamps from around the park and if you hand it in at the end you get the chance to win annual membership for 2 adults and 2 children. We couldn’t say no! It was an adventure day after all and it made sure we saw everything at the Zoo – so if your headed there with kids definitely pick one up for them!

Luckily for us the Zoo was quite quiet and meant that we could just wander round at our own pace and not feel rushed at any of the animals! First up we checked out the Penguins, Flamingos and Cheetahs before headed to the Giraffes!

I am pretty sure my mum has a picture of us both stood outside the Giraffe house like this when we were little! How great do we look haha!

We had a great time at the Giraffe’s, just watching them and enjoying being close to them, they are incredibly tall!

We then just wandered round the Zoo taking it all in, enjoying listening to the fun things kids say and just generally chatting and catching up!

We had so many giggles walking round and just generally having a random day out, drinking coffee (hot chocolate in Trina’s case) and eating ice cream!

It was really nice and just a great spontaneous day out. We I spend so much of time planning my life out and working out what I am going to do next, that its actually nice to just do something random and see where life takes me. I know we are quite a way off the New Year, but why do we need a new year to set resolutions! I want to say yes more, I want to be more spontaneous! Sod it! Lets go to Disney hahaha!

The Wedding Of The Summer

Wow, I cant believe 1 week has gone past since Trina & Nicks wedding, they have been officially man & wife for 7 days! We had such a lovely day and it was so relaxed and laid back, everyone really did look like they were having a fun time! Trina was stunning in her dress, myself and Helen hadnt seen her dress until she walked down the stairs after getting dressed & I had to hold back the tears, there were a few moments where the tears were ready to flow, but I did well and kept myself composed! I wanted to share with you all some photo’s that were taken on the day, I hope you enjoy them!

Congratulations Trina & Nick

Today is the day that my gorgeous cousin Trina and her lovely Fiance Nick become husband and wife. I am so honored to be asked to be a Bridesmaid and part of their big day.

I am in total awe of how relaxed they have both been in the lead up to the wedding and I am sure with their laid back approach the day is going to go swimmingly!

When this post uploads, Nick will be waiting for his beautiful bride to walk down the aisle ready to make her his wife and spend the rest of their lives together, so all that is left for me to do is wish you both a life time of happiness, I cant wait to see what the world has in store for you.

Lots Of Love

Bridesmaid Fun!

A couple of weekends ago now my beautiful cousin Trina had her Hen Party! It had been planned out for a few months and when the day got here I was shocked that it had arrived. Trina was very specific about what she wanted do and wanted to play a big part in the planning process, she hosted a ‘Team Bride’ evening and it was decided on Afternoon Tea & a night out in a club with a cocktail class thrown in for good measure!

Me and fellow bridesmaid Hels had a bit of a last minute dilemma over getting her some quirky bridal party bits, but managed to get some sashes, name badges and a veil for Trina to wear. Once everyone had arrived at Trinas that was getting a taxi to the hotel we put on all her fun bits ready for an afternoon out with the girls!

The Blushing Bride

The Blushing Bride

We headed down to a Hotel on the seafront and we’re joined by various family & friends of the bride. We were all then served a lovely afternoon tea, consisting of various finger sandwiches, cake and of course scones! Hels did a lovely little speech thanking everyone for coming and we all chatted and giggled whilst sipping champagne!

To make sure there was plenty of posing preparation for the wedding we got everyone together for photos before heading to Tiger Tiger.

When we arrived at the club we were taken through to one of the rooms where the cocktail making fun commenced! Everyone got to make 2 cocktails from the list and the guys that were teaching us were fantastic and made the night great. We had booked out a booth in the hawaiian themed room and it was HUGE! The drinks kept flowing and there was plenty of dancing!

All in all everyone had a great night including Trina, it was certainly a fun way to celebrate becoming a bride!

Bridesmaid Duties Part 3

I cant believe how long it has been since I have written a blog about my bridesmaid duties! To be honest, there is a lot I could tell you about my duties as being Hayley’s bridesmaid and helping to organise her Hen Party in November, but she reads this and I don’t want to spoil the surprise!

However, I haven’t written this as a meaningless blog (well, some people might think it its!) as I wanted to share with you all that my bridesmaid duties have INCREASED. My cousin Trina is due to get married in July this year & originally decided that she didn’t want to have bridesmaids, so when I got a text from her on Tuesday asking if I wanted to be her bridesmaid, I couldn’t say no! I have to say, its going to be a mad few months as we need to get dresses and a hen party sorted but her laid back attitude I am sure will keep the bridal team calm!

At the moment, I am part of  2 wedding pin boards on Pinterest, trying to remember what secret I cant tell what bride and I’m not even organising the whole day!

I have to say though, although my holiday to Vegas is motivation, the fact I need to get into a bridesmaid dress in 6 months time has spurred me on and I went back to the gym tonight for the first time in over a month! I also need to get rid of my Christmas chocolates!!!

So over the coming months, I am sure there will be lots to fill you in on so keep your eyes peeled, oh and just to keep you entertained here is a gorgeous picture of me and Trina!

British Summers!

So, 1 year ago the UK had the whole world watching us. We celebrate the Queens Diamond Jubilee with street parties and bank holidays, we even decorated the outside of our house with flags. The country felt united for what I feel was the first time in a long time! We then went on to host the 2012 Olympics, I am not a sporty person, don’t get wrong I love a game of footie and going to gym, but I’m not overly keen on sport. The Olympics however, it was great I found myself getting so into everything, staying late at Matts just to see the end of a race!

My cousin Ryan had the luck to be accepted as a volunteer for the Olympics last year and he made this lovely video following his time during the games…..

Following all the excitement from last year, I can’t help but feel this summer is a bit of a lull. There isn’t much excitement going on in the country! I am gagging for a holiday, Matt has his return to work meeting next week and hopefully we will find out when he can take some leave, I just hope that we can have time off together. I am thinking though, even if we can’t get the time off together I might still go away for a few days on my own. I’ve been thinking I might go to Boston so next year with my cousin we can just shop till we drop in New York!

Well I am off for now, I will blog again later in the week.
