Our Journey

Can you believe this is my 300th blog post since this little blog started all those years ago? It started off with my bucketlist (hence the URL) as I wanted something to do with my life as I felt left behind (nothing has changed there). Although I have crossed a lot off my original list, this evolved into something bigger and I found a passion for writing that I didn’t really know I had.

I have been reminiscing about previous posts and I wanted to share with you some of my favourites!

My Trip To The Rodeo

So Much Kindness

My Ritz Experience

San Francisco…..

My First Liberty Shoot

I love writing about my life and sharing parts of it with you, I like to use my blog share my experiences and hopefully inspire you on your own journeys. I will be 29 soon, which means I start my 30th year on Planet Earth and what am I planning to do with it? I have no clue, but I am sure with Matt, my family and my friends by my side I know it will be another great year!

So why not hit the follow button on the side so you can join me and see what happens, in the mean time I would like to say a MASSIVE

Keep Smiling!

Falling Back In Love

DON’T PANIC…..I Repeat DON’T PANIC! Matt & I have not fallen out of love…..this blog isn’t about us!

A couple of years ago I made the decision to move to blogger and continue my blogging days on that platform. However no matter how much I tried I just didn’t like the look of it, I couldn’t upload posts via the app and I had to use a 2nd platform to share on social media. Although I would tell people my creative juices weren’t flowing and I slowly stopped writing. Looking back it was because I just didn’t like what I was producing and hadn’t fallen in love with the end project.

A couple of weeks ago a close friend of mine was searching for my posts on San Francisco and I had to make them public again on this blog. I found myself looking at the blog visually and getting lost reading old posts and it hit me. I wanted to write again, but I wanted to write HERE.

So, my past few weeks have been spent transferring posts from blogger to here and giving this a bit of a refresher. I loved my old template, but I have fallen in love with this new one and I just feel that its more me. For so long I have felt influenced by the blogging/vlogging world and trying to catch up. It has caused me alot of upset and anxiety when I have felt left behind or ungrateful for the amazing things that I have. Hindsight is a wonderful thing and looking back I shouldn’t have moved, I should have stayed put HERE, where I feel safe expressing myself and actually like the end product of what I am producing.

Its mad to think that just the right look and platform can inspire a person so much. My mind has been buzzing over the past few days and I have so many ideas of what i want to share with you. Now that I am feeling happier with my writing space and don’t care (ok I do still a little bit and I am working on it) about keeping up with the jones’, I know that my writing is going to go from strength to strength and I just hope that you will continue to read my story.

However, in the mean time, take a look around read through the 200+ posts i have written since 2013 and let me know what you like reading! For those of you that have only been reading since August 2015 – take trip back to earlier posts – there is a lot fun stuff that you missed out on.

But for now, this blogger is back and happier than ever!

To Vlog Or Not To Vlog?!

One of my best friends is a vlogger and a bloomin’ good one too! I envy how easy she finds talking to the camera and how great she is with it too. She has over 6,500 subscribers and most of her videos have had over 5,00 views some even hitting over 30,000! When she set up her channel, I remember it mainly being about cruelty free animal products, it has now grown into beauty & homeware hauls, reviews, lifestyle topics and even some tutorials. Here are some links to some of my favourite video’s that she has uploaded!

Now, about a year ago I thought about maybe starting up a channel to go alongside my blog and be a way to actually share my experiences with you, as although reading and looking at photo’s is just as fun sometimes actually seeing something makes it ten times better. I scrapped this idea when I remembered that I don’t always wear make-up sometimes I have my PCOS beard going on or I haven’t done my hair. Then just before Christmas I changed my mind and I was determined to start a channel and sod the fact I haven’t made myself up, but something is always holding me back. I really want to share my experiences with you, but it is my own insecurities that are holding me back, but I can promise you that one day I will surprise you and I will announce that we have a channel!

In the meantime, please subscribe to Loved By Steph on YouTube and she will keep you entertained with new video’s every week!

London Fashion Weekend

Today I am recovering from a looooooong, fun day in London! As you all might know if you have read my previous post https://butterflybucketlist.wordpress.com/2013/12/29/santa-actually-came you will know that my wonderful boyfriend brought me a ticket to London Fashion Weekend and invited my friends Steph and Hayley along with me so we could have a properly girly day out!

So here is what I finally decided on wearing – nothing that I posted I would – well apart from my Black Skinnys and Leather Jacket!

Unfortunately Hayley had injured her back and wasn’t able to join us, so me and Steph headed up to London on the 8.40 train – non stop talking and catching up on things the whole journey there. We stopped off at Starbucks when we arrived at Waterloo and had a quick drink and some yummy breakfast. I had a gorgeous Vanilla Spice Latte – I love the flavour, but think it is only a special for now so I will need to find a new favourite! It was also the first time I have properly had my name on a Starbucks Cup – I was very happy!

So we headed off and made the short walk to Somerset House over Waterloo Bridge, I was so glad it wasn’t raining and as long as it wasn’t windy and despite how grey London is, I think it always looks a bit prettier when the skies are blue and the sun is shining!

So when we got into Somerset House we were given our lanyards and guides and our goodie bags! I found out that because I was on Vodafone network I was also entitled to a free Maybelline Nail Polish. Here is a list of what goodies I got!

Lavazza Qualita Oro
Beauty Bar – Cereal Cubes, Coconut, Almonds & Honey
Label M. Hairspray
Maybelline Baby Lips – Hydrate
Essie Nail Polish – Naughty Nautical

We were booked into 2 fashion shows, one trend and one designer. The trend show was put on by The Outnet.com, they put on 4 separate sections: Precious Metals, Flower Power, Lace Embrace, Good Sport. My favourite section was probably either Flower Power and Good Sport, it was nice to see different bits on the catwalk and take some inspiration for when I am shopping.

Our designer show was Julien McDonald, I have to admit I was a little disappointed as the Catwalk Show itself only lasted 10 minutes, however the clothes were phenomenal – here is a few snippets that I took!

We had a look round the pop up shops they had and whilst the accessories were quite nice, there was nothing really that caught my eye. Whilst I really enjoyed my experience of London Fashion Weekend, I don’t feel that I am that into high end fashion as others that were there, but I definitely enjoyed my day!

We left Somerset House at about 3pm and mooched for a bit around Covent Garden and ended up in Byron Burger for something to eat before deciding to head back to Waterloo and catch the train home…..we then found out there was a LUSH store at Waterloo and just had to go in……

I ended up buying some really nice smelling goodies and I just cannot wait to have a nice relaxing bath!

All in all my experience of a fashion show was a really great one and I really did enjoy myself, however I don’t think I would go again as I’m not a high end fashion bunny.

Count down to my next bucket list adventure!

here is a trailer for Steph’s YouTube Channel – it is definitely worth a visit
