Our Journey

Can you believe this is my 300th blog post since this little blog started all those years ago? It started off with my bucketlist (hence the URL) as I wanted something to do with my life as I felt left behind (nothing has changed there). Although I have crossed a lot off my original list, this evolved into something bigger and I found a passion for writing that I didn’t really know I had.

I have been reminiscing about previous posts and I wanted to share with you some of my favourites!

My Trip To The Rodeo

So Much Kindness

My Ritz Experience

San Francisco…..

My First Liberty Shoot

I love writing about my life and sharing parts of it with you, I like to use my blog share my experiences and hopefully inspire you on your own journeys. I will be 29 soon, which means I start my 30th year on Planet Earth and what am I planning to do with it? I have no clue, but I am sure with Matt, my family and my friends by my side I know it will be another great year!

So why not hit the follow button on the side so you can join me and see what happens, in the mean time I would like to say a MASSIVE

Keep Smiling!

Review Of 2014

Wow, I can’t believe we are already in 2015! 2014 went super quick and soo much happened. I went a week without technology, had & threw up afternoon tea at The Ritz, saw a fashion show at London Fashion Week, Milked A Cow, went on a road trip to Ohio, went to a Rodeo in Ohio (in a maxi dress!), had a photo shoot with my mum, went on a spa weekend with Hayley and finally made my own Christmas cards!

As well as all of that I had 2 holidays, brought a new car, broke my foot, went to the grand national, reunited with old friends, lost new friends and caught lightening bugs in America. To say it has been a quiet year would be a bit of an understatement. However, for some reason whenever anyone says to me “oh what have you been up to?” I never seem have much to report back, which in actual fact is a LIE!

I cant really say what my favourite thing of 2014 was as I have a lot of happy memories and ones that I will treasure forever. There have been some sad times as well, Matt & I know people that have ended relationships, lost family members and experienced a lot of sadness this year.

I am really excited to see what 2015 has in store for me, I know that one thing is for sure I am fly to VEGAS in April! I cannot wait, I am sooo excited! I have also started number 24 – its a bit hard to find something to take a picture of everyday, but I am excited to look back on them in a years time! There are 2 more things that I would like to cross of this year, but I am going to keep them for myself and surprise you all when I announce them! People often ask each other, what New Year’s resolutions they are making; I cant help but feel that you are setting yourself up for failure, especially if they are diet or fitness related. I have made 3 resolutions for this year, but these are things I started doing at the beginning of December:

Be Kinder To Myself – dont put too much pressure on myself to hit certain goals, just enjoy life

Make More Effort With Those That Make The Effort With Me – I am not great at texting people back or calling people, but I am concious that I dont want to lose friendships that I have, so I am going to make the effort more, especially with those that always make an effort to reach out to me.

Save At Least 12k By The End Of The Year – I already have about a 3rd of this saved, so its a reasonable goal, but one that I want to achieve to get my own home!

Have you made any resolutions for the new year? what were your favourite things of 2014?

Blogging To Christmas Part II

Part 2…….Christmas Movies

Who doesn’t love a good Christmas movie? Sitting by the tree and watching a classic on the TV! I was at the Christmas Ideal Home Show the other week and as we were walking round there was a group of people gathered on some sofa’a and bean bags, I wasn’t sure why at first, but as we walked past they were all sat watching Miracle On 34th Street! All of them, from young kids to grown men were completely engrossed in the movie & as we walked past, I felt comforted by the music and the section of the film as it’s one that I have watched as a young girl. That’s the thing with Christmas movies, they all start to eventually have a memory to them! Now trying to work out what are my favourites is a bit difficult, but I have listed a few that I would defiantly recommend watching with a hot chocolate!

Elf

Well why not! It’s one of the funniest movies I have ever seen, always puts a smile on my face. This has to be one of my favorite parts

The Santa Clause (and you have to watch ALL 3)

For me Tim Allen IS Father Christmas, I love all 3 films and I have to watch all 3 before Christmas as well.

The Polar Express

I have asked a few people about this movie and always get mixed reviews! I love the believing aspect behind this film, it is always something that my dad has drummed into myself and my brother, especially as there is 9 years between us, I had to keep believing because of my little brother when I stopped believing. So if your little ones are at the age where they are questioning is “he” real? Sit them down in front of this and I think it will help install 1 more year of magic!

Love Actually

Because LOVE is important at this time of year and everyone loves a rom-com that’s based around Christmas!

It’s A Wonderful Life

For as long as I can remember my dad has watched this every year when he is writing his Christmas cards. Mum & I always tease him because its an old black and white film, but without walking in the house and hearing this film on it wouldn’t be Christmas!

White Christmas

I only watched this film for the first time about 4 years ago, on Christmas Eve before going to church (more on that in another post!)So now I have to watch it every Christmas Eve before going to Church!

I hope this has given you some idea’s on movies to watch, perhaps there might even be some that you haven’t seen and are thinking you might give them a watch! I promise, you wont be disappointed!

Revisiting Number 5!

5. Go On A Safari

safari_kenya

There is nothing that I would love more than to see Elephants, Lions, Tigers & Giraffes roaming the African plains, free and without a care in the world! However, realistically a safari can cost anything upto £5k and that is a lot of money when you are trying to save up a deposit for a mortgage! So I tried to be a bit more inventive and started looking at VIP safari packages at local Zoo’s and Safari parks. There are some fantastic offers available, but the best ones, you are looking at spending £500 per person and that £1k would pay for one of us to go to Cuba for 2 weeks! So I looked at another alternative, I found a lovely Safari park in Kent where you can have personal safari & stay in the grounds, but again it wasn’t cheap. Now I know the idea of a bucket list is to do things you would never do normally, but I just really don’t think this is possible for me to do before I am 30! Soooo its being replaced….

5. Visit A Fortune Teller
Yes, you are probably are all thinking this is really random and completely unsual – but isn’t that the idea? I can remember being on holiday in Devon one year when I was about 14/15 and walking down the pier to go and play in the arcades and we walked passed a little, I suppose, shed. It was a fortune teller, I remember saying to my mum and dad I wanted to do it, but they said I was too young. Then a few years later when I went to Brighton for the first time, I walked past a Native Indian Shop and it had a note in the window stating “Tarot readings available today”. Everytime I have been down there something has made me look and think “ooo do I do it”…..So this isn’t just a one off random idea, I have wanted to do this for quite some time now….I just need to put it into action!
